I'd always read about these and the box was full and in decent shape. These were the famous "Metal Piercing" .357s, and remain to date, the smallest functioning Shaped Charge round that is still able to penetrate the 170mm side armor of a Warsaw Pact T-55. Or not, still kinda cool!

Maybe I should break out an old, mint condition, unopened six pack of "Billy Beer" and use these to shoot them up later, after it warms up... Again, maybe not...

I've picked up one each of 9mm and .357, I actually carry the 357s in my J frame. (yes, I have shot full power in my Scandium J frame, no, it's not pleasant.) I swear, I think I have one or two old boxes of Super Vel as well. Damn, I'm a "Cartridge Collector" and didn't even know it?

Wow, never knew of these . Where these popular and what were they for ? Assuming for the military or law enforcement ......😊

Federal has come out with a special product called the "Punch" series. Punch ammo is designed to punch through things.....notice the 38 Special +P. For those of you that want this type of ammo it is available. That is an incredible find on the 357 metal piercing.

Add a 6 pack of Hop 'N' Gator to your list of vintage stuff.

5¢ Tennessee Ammunition Tax Stamp?

Explain please! Did that go away entirely, or did they increase it? As a wannabee Vol, I'd like to know! I know there's no income tax, but they make up for it with high sales tax. What other hidden taxes are lurking?
I live in Commiefornia and we pay $1 for every ammo purchase, one box or one pallet. AND 11% fee (not a tax) on all complete weapons.....

Possession of that ammo may be a felony in California. I think the $1 background check fee for ammo just went to $5. And the 11% applies to all guns and ammo sold by a FFL, even when the buyer paid online and is merely having the dealer do the transfer.
I wish the lawsuit challenging this was moving faster.

WMG,, It's been a few years,, but I do know the ammo tax went to $0.10 per box of ammo several years ago in Tenn. When I did any gun shows over there,, if I had any ammo to sell,, I'd buy a few stamps to put on the boxes,, to abide by the laws. Ammo collectors would wrap their boxes of collectable stuff in cellophane and put the stamp on the outside of that,, so as to not put a sticker on the box itself.

Not sure if they still do that or not.

Lots of interesting ammo shown for sure!

I recall back when the Black Talon scare hit the evening news, and guessed they might get banned . . . or jump in price. Jumped in the car, went to the store and bought a box of everything labeled Black Talon. The clerk asked why I did it and I told him what I had just seen on the news. He got a funny look on his face and picked up his phone . . . :ROFLMAO:
