Hi
Now that some are available,I want to pick up at least 1 more mag. for my P89D.
Anyone have opinions,either way,on mags. from Mec-Gar?
I don't know the brand,so I thought I'd ask if anyone has experience with them in a Ruger like mine.
Thanks

Welcome. The P-Guns are the best!!

Mec-gar made the factory mags for ruger many years ago and still may actually. I use factory 99% of the time but do have a couple mec-gars too. The 17 rd mags still fit flush if that matters to you.

Enjoy you gun and feel free to post a pic. Gun porn is gooood.

Warning though from one P-nut to another, the P-guns are addictive.

I agree with Roy above... the MecGar mags 17+1 (MGRP8517B) are flush fit/work great. Get yourself a 30 or 32rd mag or two as well... just for grins.

Someone here recently purchased a case of P Series Mags, but I have not heard or seen any posts to sell any of them.....

Thanks for the replies,I'd have answered earlier but I didn't get any mail about this.
The 17rd mags are what I was looking at,I have 15s now.
It seems you never know what you're getting into with replacement mags,so I wanted to ask.
I prefer to develop my own problems rather than buy some I didn't know about.
Thanks
Bob

Probably not a problem... but keep in mind the very first run of 89s took a different magazine than the later model p-9mm magazines.....

The OEM mags might be different, only slightly.... but the MecGar mags 17+1 (MGRP8517B) should work in all P's as far as I know.

I ordered 1,sounds like it should be fine.
If you register a C&R license with them they discount most things 10%.
It's not a bad deal.

I'm lost. Where do you get a 10% discount for having a C & R license? Mec-Gar?

tnx, I did not know that
I don't remember how I first found out about this, but quite a few businesses discount to FFL holders. And many of those, but not all, give the same discount to FFL3 holders as they do FFL1 holders.
It doesn't hurt to write to sales@insert name here and ask about that.
You generally have to fax or e-mail them a signed copy of your license. After that,it's pretty easy and painless.
