I just received an used ruger gunsite scout rifle through gunbroker and have found an issue after just about 10 dry firing cycles.
Anyone familiar with the M77's 3-position safety will understand that when the safety lever is flipped into the Safe position, it presses a pin forward. I am sorry, but I am not sure what that pin is called. Anyways, while cycling the bolt and dry firing, and not actually putting the safety lever into the Safe position, that pin likes to work itself outward and the bolt becomes locked. I can press it back in to where is belongs and unlock the bolt but I can just as easily press it in too far, which also locked the bolt.
Does anyone have experience and a proposed solution?
