I have an old (built in 1971) M-77 with the tang safety in 308. I want to leave the factory stock alone and get another stock to shorten up for my son. I wrote Ruger but never got a reply so I'll ask the question here. Is there anyone making them anymore or do I just have to take my chances and hope I can find one on e-bay?

Numrich has some stocks for the short action M77. I've bought some Ruger stocks from Numrich and have had pretty good luck.

I have also had some success with ebay, but it's always a bit of a crap shoot there.

Boyd's says they have them in two different styles. Both are laminated stocks; didn't see any walnut, but I just took a quick look.
