Mine has the Weatherby Imperial made by Hertel & Reuss it's also German. The Redfields were the "budget" factory scope at the time.
By the time I could afford a Weatherby they had moved production to Japan. I wanted a German one. In 1982 (10 years after German production ended) I was in Pachmayr in LA and on the shelf was a brand new LH 300 with the tags still on it. I almost hurt myself getting out my checkbook. I didn't mind paying the 1972 retail price. It even came with the Weatherby hard case. I always suspected it was one of those where you got a gun instead of interest on a CD. Our daughter is also a leftie (shooter) and has claimed it.

Oh nice one! I'm a lefty but both my guns are right hand. One 257 and one 340.
One with a Redfield and the other sports a nice Weaver.

Don't think I've ever seen a factory hard case.
