Went to a show today. Not my preferred venue but, hey, it was a show.
My buddy and I spent around $2300 combined at one dealers.
This was my purchase. For what I think was a good price. $450 OTD.
No box or papers but I'm not too concerned for the price.
My buddy spent the lions share of the money.
He picked up a 6" S&W Mod. 25 and an 8-3/8"
Mod. 17.
Anyone here ever swap out the front ramp sight for a patridge or a gold bead?

Those are original Ruger factory grips---the gun could have definitely come with those grips---or maybe came with the smaller wooden grips and a previous owner swapped them out...

Perhaps I should have been clearer.
I know the grips are factory, I just don't know if they are original to this gun.

Hey Acorn, Theres a very good chance those are the grips it came with---my Security Six 4" stainless (bought used, but mint) came with Ruger factory black rubber grips that look very much like your wooden grips---they are definitely not Pachmeyer rubber grips... They fit my hand just fine... My guess is that you would have to contact Ruger with your question, but they haven't made Security Sixes in quite some time...

It was noted as "Big Grip" on the box, but the "T" in the catalog number GS-36T is the proof that designates it as having the Target grips. The $10 letter will include the catalog number.

The rubber grips with the Ruger medallions are indeed Pachmayr, made under contract to Ruger. A factory shipped gun with the rubber grips would have a "P" instead of the "T" in the catalog number.

Stainless Security Six catalog numbers started with "GA" and blue ones with "RDA". The "36" means .357 Mag, and 6" barrel.
