To many of us,, yes,, we handle & look at many Rugers to where we can often look at a picture & see it's a Long Frame. Plus,, we also have the RENE Guide to reference serial numbers to help us confirm our suspicions.

I look at the front lower toe of the grip frame. Well rounded = short frame. Very pointed = long frame.

Look at the toe of the grip frame if there is a decent picture that shows that. A long frame is pointed, short frame is nicely rounded.
