Friday and Saturday there was the 17fh annual car show here in Natchitoches Louisiana. The town is the oldest in Louisiana, founded in 1714. I try to attend every year and they take the entire downtown historic district and turn it into a giant car show. There were over 400 cars this year. You'll find everything from old trucks, street rods to muscle car a few into the modern muscle era. Of course my favorite was the emerald green '69 Plymouth GTX. And there were two original Shelby Cobras that were both in mint condition. One of them the owner had bought it new in 1965.
Here are a few pictures I will share.

Nice pics! Love those car shows. Always try to make it to Hemmings Muscle Car show in Lebanon Valley N.Y. in late May for their show. So many vintage muscle cars on display.

Great pics and usually a great time at these shows, I say usually only because the Cobra pic you posted at a show 'reminded me of what happened locally this past May here on L.I. It's a show that happens every spring, summer and fall on Ocean Pky on the Atlantic coast overlooking the water in a parking lot. Just the sort of unorganized car shows across the country on nice warm sunny days. I go there pretty often in our Corvette. On this particular day we weren't there but a couple in their Cobra kit( I believe) were leaving the show and at the encouragement of people standing along the beach road the man decided to give them a little show heading out. For whatever reason he lost control of the light weight, high powered beast and headed for the wire guardrail with disastrous results. Both the man and his lady lost their lives.
play stupid games, win stupid prizes many will say but I think it's safe to say many of us have hotdogged in a car or bike at some points in our life. Thankfully no one else in this case was hurt, I'm just offering a heads up to keep your heads( pun) and be careful with the throttle.

I watched those cars (Cobras) race when they were the latest tech, the replicas have twice or three times the horsepower of the originals.

Great they came back with all the H.P. for quite a while. Thought 350 brake horse power was pretty good in my day. Started cutting back on compression back around 71 and got worse from there. Net H.P. became the norm. Sure wish I had one of the 435 horsepower Mustangs now. Still a boatload of used stuff floating around even with all the battery crap being thrown at us.
