This pistol is coming up for auction, they have labeled it Mark 1, but I think the serial number makes it a little earlier. Anybody care to comment. Here is the cut out from the ad: Pistols: Ruger 22 cal. Auto Mark I, Srl #11-52882/case, very good.

Thanks, Hauss

The #11 suffix would indicate a 1970 pistol
10-75016 1971
11-26288 1972
11-72924 1973
12-22449 1974
Do you have anymore info..pics would help

Haus, good info above as to the dates, bottom line is if the gun has adjustable sights or NOT, that is the difference between a "Mark I " and the 'standard auto' ( besides the "Mark I " is rollmarked on the right side of the receiver.....)anyway, we have sen lots of the Ruger 22 's go for prety cheap at many auctions, so be patient in your bidding and do NOT get carried away....good luck

Gonna have a hard time finding it on the right side of the receiver..... I'd look on the left side instead.

If it is a Mark I, $300 or so would be a decent price for an absolutely mint condition pistol. Condition is everything..... if it has been "rode hard", it's a $150 pistol. A fair amount of "normal wear" (sharp edges, frontstrap, backstrap) would put it in the $250 range.

Watch out for a bad case of "auction fever"..... I've seen folks get carried away and pay outrageous prices for junk.
