I have a SR45 and I love it but I don't like the Loaded chamber indicator. Have any of you guys removed yours and if so how did you do it ?

If you don't like them and you have a Dremil with a cutoff wheel just cut the end off and you have an inspection port similar to the 9E. The slot in the slide is filled so no holes in the slide. If you change you mind you can order them thru Ruger and simply replace it by driving out the rollpin and inserting a new one.

I have an SR9c, I took the loaded chamber indicator out, and used a small file to cut it down, until it sticks up
only about 1/16 of an inch.

Using a Dremel on the LCI is a bad idea. It is marked "Loaded When Up", and if you disable it then it won't be up when loaded any more.

I also like the loaded chamber indicator. Even in the dark I can just run my thumb across the top of the slide to reassure myself that yes, the gun is loaded and hot. Just tonight I was getting ready to take the dogs out and instead of the SR9c I grabbed my Gold Cup and couldn't remember if I had left it loaded or not so I had to turn on a light to check. I think the loaded chamber indicator is a great thing.

I hate the loaded chamber indicator, when I had a gun with one I fund a piece of Stainless Steel and mad a replacement out of it. I will not buy a Ruger with the loaded chamber indicator. I Love Ruger without it.
