Right, it's basically a .338-08. Another member of the .243 Win, .260 Rem, 7mm-08 Rem, .308 Win, .358 Win family.

The .38 Federal has lots of factory fodder options. The.338-06 is strictly a reloading caliber unless you stocked up on the old Weatherby ofherings as i did.

Yes, many folks neck-up 30-06 cases. Proper head stamp cases a bit pricey
