Anyone have one in either caliber?

I'm buying one in the .327 Fed Mag but I'm finding that the high front sight is limiting the leather OWB holster availability.
I'm looking for input from those who have the gun regarding what you've chosen for a holster & would you recommend it, or not.
My concern is the high front sight ripping up the sight channel of the holster's interior & which holsters may minimize or eliminate that.

I ordered an El Paso Saddlery holster for my revolver just like the one in your picture. I think it's a Tom Threepersons. Trigger guard is uncovered and I chose a snapped strap. I remember adding a comment to my order that this SP101 had a very tall front sight and gave the Ruger model number 15707. I don't know if they did anything different. There is no sight channel molded in. The leather just folds around the gun and doesn't really get snug until the cylinder enters.

Can't answer the question about holsters, but that is the best looking SP101 they have ever made. Ruger should have made them like that from the get go. Make in stainless and I'll buy one in any caliber produced; 22, 32, 9, 357, or 40.

I have not carried mine. Only trips to the range thus far. I do have a Simply Rugged Sourdough Pancake when I'm ready to carry it. Yes a stainless model would be nice. I agree on this model being a pretty darn good SP--it covered a few bases for me-- a three inch with adjustable sights--underlug cut. It added a blued SP to my collection as well. Classic look and style. I changed out the grip panels for some checked Altamont panels.

I bought a Triple K holster for mine direct from Ruger. It has a thumb break snap and is very good quality. I haven't noticed the front sight doing any damage. Although I have only carried it in the field a few times.

I don't have any of the SPs but I have a few of the Six revolvers. I have a 2 inch K frame holster from Azula and the bottom is open, it works perfect for my 2.75 Speed Six. Get an Azula for a 2.25 SP and I bet the 3 inch works even with the high front sight. You'll have an inch of barrel hanging out but it'll work.

Thank you but I don't use any holster that doesn't protect the entire barrel & muzzle crown.

I think I've found my holster this morning, thanks for the recommendations guys.

I am waiting on a Texas Tuck from Doc Barranti at Barranti Leather. The 3-inch SP101 is a new offering in his Texas Tuck line. I'm hoping for good things from it! The wheel gun itself, in .327 Federal, is fabulous!
