Morning Ruger Flat Top Enthusiasts,

Your feedback that you recieved sounds pretty positive that a
Stainless Steel (SS) Bisley Ruger/Lipsey Flat Top 44 S&W Special,
5-1/2 Bbl (w/Micro adjustable sights of course)(black checkered grips)
will be produced.

I hope there are Ruger and Lipsey Executives that read this Ruger Forum.

The reason I want a Stainless Steel Bisley, is the fact that SS appears to be
easier to clean, holster wear doesn't show as easily, there is some haft to sorta
off set recoil, I like the Bisley grip, most of my other Revolvers are SS, it's
what I'm comfortable with.

I only own 2 Rugers: Ruger/Lipsey Blackhawk Flat Top 44 S&W Special,
5-1/2 Bbl and a Ruger Gold Label SxS 12ga English style grip.

I'm excited.

Well, see Yeaw

Thank you for the announcement, gunman42782.

Just want to voice my opinion and get my 2 cents in, maybe it might
materialize soon.

I just bought the Ruger/Lipsey Blackhawk Flat Top 44 S&W Special,
5-1/2 Bbl several months ago (will remain an un-shot Collector/Trading Stock)

plus my Ruger Flat Top fell apart……
oops, plus am diversified (US Fire Arms Flat Top, it's the shooter)

Hey Norseman, That USFA flat top is sweet! 44 Special I presume. I've got two regular frame USFA in 44, 4 3/4" and due for a flat top! I do like my new model 44 FT in 4 5/8" barrel though with a Montado SS grip and diamond checkered target hammer.

I just converted an OM 357 FT to 44 Spl using a USFA cylinder which are nominally the same diameter as medium frame Ruger cylinders. You get a nice pre war chamfered cylinder with the 1/2" Radius flutes and a separate cylinder bushing.

Had El Paso Saddlery make up a Tom Threepersons holster and belt for my 4 5/8" flattop.

It sure is fun to shoot!

As you can see, I'm new here. Thanks for having me.

However, not new to Ruger. The first handgun I purchased, at the ripe old age of 15, (1959) was a Single Six. I had worked all summer for my Dad on a construction project and I bought the Ruger and a new Lambretta. Big time.

Unfortunately, I got ambitious and traded the Single Six off for a S&W M27 357M two years later.

Yes the USFA SAA Flat Top is a 44 S&W Special.
I really like it. The fit and finish can't be beat.
It is a shooter. Been trying different powders and
shoot'n it alot, no complaints so far.

I would really like a USFA Bisley Flat Top in 44 Spl or 38 Spl.
5-1/2" barrel would be my pick, but would take a 4-5/8.

I do have a Regular USFA Bisley in 44 Spl, 5-1/2 bbl, it is
beautiful, have never shot that yet, maybe some day.

The Ruger/Lipsey 44 Spl in the picture still remains unshot.
Would trade for USFA Bisley Flat Top if had the chance.

See yeaw.

Hi Norseman,

Well we clearly do have the same preference in guns. I never warmed up to the Bisley grip though, I just don't need such a large size. The USFA guns are just flawless and their cylinders are .020" larger than Colt's which makes them the same size and strength as my Ruger Flat top. However they do sell cylinders in the Colt size and I've used their barrel and cylinder to convert a 2nd gen Colt to 44 Spl. and their cylinders to replace sloppy 3rd gen Colt cylinders. I'm using a pair of USFA 44-40 and 44 Spl cyls for a convertable OM 357 shooter and may make another in 45 Colt. But you have to use Ruger barrels or 3rd gen Colt barrels because of the thread size.

But if you ever consider parting with that flat top USFA to finance a new USFA Bisley FT in 5 1/2" let me know. Is it marked just 44 Special or S&W and Russian 44? Does it have the case hardened hammer?

You know I have an aunt from Sue Falls SD. Would like to go there some day.

Take care,
