Let's talk about 10/22 barrels...

I used to work with a fellow who was a SERIOUS .22 benchrester. As in, he had a rifle rest that cost more than any three of my rifles put together. :shock: He would spend whatever the "best" .22 ammo cost, and didn't care where it was made, only that he could get enough of it.

He was quite emphatic about his preference for Lija barrels.

Know whatcha mean. I built my rifle while hanging around the "Rimfire Central" forum and there are some serious shooters there! As accurate as I think my rifle is, it's only mediocre at rimfire benchrest. That requires almost "same hole" groups! But as a sporter rifle I like my results with the GM barrel. If I was $eriou$ about rimfire BR, I'd probably start with bolt rifle like a M-52 Winnie....FWIW, Dennis (Who is a Ruger AND old Winchester fan! :wink: )

Wow, I got a lot of information from these threads. I didn't even have to chime in. :wink: Thanks guys, y'all really know your stuff. I'm looking at building an AR15 style 10/22 but the barrel specs are what i was worried about. Thanks a mundo!
