I know that guy! He was hunting one time and nature called. He didn't have any toilet paper and hollered to his buddy to see if he had any. His buddy said... "use a dollar"... He comes back to his buddy with crap on his fingers and his buddy asked him what happened... He says "I didn't have a dollar bill so used 4 quarters instead"

It has worse than decayed. A generation and a half has grown up with minimal face-to-face interaction, communicating more often with texts and internet. No way to understand or learn empathy. This same generation was bought up with "positive reenforcement" ( " I'm sorry that you are angry and broke my favorite whatever. How can I make you feel better?" . In other words, no consequences for bad behavior. Combine no empathy and no fear of consequences and what you have is sociopath in training. THAT is what we are dealing with. Forget guns for a second. We also have mass stabbings, people driving up un the sidewalk to kill randomly, People shoving strangers in front of subways, and people walking down the street randomly punching old ladies in the face because......why not? THAT is what we are dealing with. Sociopathic violence will always find a way, guns or not.
