Let’s have more fun! Favorite rifle cartridge

Well you picked some great rounds! Especially for Ground Grizz........if you get a chance, I'd suggest to add a 17 Hornet to your collection....you can get a light walking version, great for when just poking around if you see a Grizz. It is much more power and punch than the rimfire 17 and hardly any recoil.

.22 LR
.204 Ruger Varmints
.25-06 best white tailed deer. It's a Ruger No.1 Varmint
.338 Win Mag.....would have one if I could shoot large bear and moose

I'm not really that much into shooting rifles... but I do have 3 in 30-06... this started because it's what my father used in Korea .... '03 Springfield with a scope. But if I was going to push the envelope... the rifle (actually two) I actually have on hand to use are chambered in 357 Sig. Even though both have 9mm barrels on them at the moment.

My favorite is the 7x57 Mauser, but I also have a penchant for the .30-06. My two favorite rifles are a Ruger No. 1-A in 7x57 and a Steyr Model M Luxus in .30-06.

Are you saying you have two rifles chambered in 357 sig?. A 357 sig uses a 9mm .355 diameter bullet.

Quite a while back I decided a great rifle was one in .308Win. I'm still happy with that choice.

Then I decided that I "needed" a bear/moose rifle for hunting up here in Alaska so I was on the lookout for a .375H&H
I've not shot a bear yet but the moose I shot @ 210 yards dropped in it's tracks - so I decided that rifle is a keeper. (It only took me 8 hours to field dress that moose and pack it back to camp - but every morsel was delicious)

the two rifles are made by a company out of Oregon that make rifles and pistols (same receiver frame just with a brace) in various pistol caliber rounds. I bought both a rifle with a 16" barrel and a pistol with a 10" and have them both so they can shoot 9mm and 357 sig. My one grip is they are only made to take Glock magazines. These guns are designed so that the barrel can be taken off in about 5 seconds and so they break down and pack pretty easy. The really nice thing is now the company makes a universal bolt that will accept 9mm, 40 cal, 357 sig and 10mm.

The Company is TNW Firearms.
