I picked up a LCP and LCP II last year and really haven't messed with them aside from putting on mag extensions and grip sleeves (both feel better to my Wife and I).
However, looking at them today the magazines are identical aside from one says Made In Italy and the rest say Made In USA.
I picked these up from a retired LEO who worked with my Son In Law in K9. He used them as BUGs.
Did the LCP II have the last shot hold back capability from the start or was that feature added later?
Not having last shot hold back capability isn't a huge factor for me. I'm just curious.

Original LCP had no last round hold open, that was introduced in the LCP II models.

Magazines marked Made in Italy were made by MecGar and IMO are higher quality.

Knew about the original not having it. Was just wondering if the LCP II had it when introduced or later. I'm not very familiar with little things. But they interested me when offered and couldn't beat the price.
Yep knew the Italy was probably MecGar.....I have a bunch of MecGar made mags for various guns from various brands. I'd bet a lot of folks have them and don't even know it. A lot of OEM mags are MecGar.
Agreed …. MecGar mags for Ruger's are the best
I would have to agree as well. I'm guessing the guy I purchased these from changed out or kept the LCP II mags. I will probably order a couple just to have, but not stressed over it. These will be for hot weather pocket carry, if carried at all.
