LCP and the LCP II Primary or BUG?

Help Support Ruger Forum:

I have owned Many LCP's. And I own the LCP22. Mine runs great, use it as a trainer. I own many Pocket guns and a dedicated enthusiast for about 15 yrs., and 95% i time carry one. However I seldom carry in the pocket. I carry OWB in small thin holsters or Appendix carry. Pocket carry is too slow. In my years of shooting them the best of the best is the Beretta Pico.
I like the beretta pico

Read up and or watch videos of the public getting attacked. It's all up close and personal. As a CCW holder defending yourself from an attack is all close up and personal. Many times, too damn close. Don't measure shooting distances that police have. Why? because YOU are not attempting to stop a crook that as committed a crime, stop a car for a traffic violation or go into an unknown person's house that has a wanted crook for examples.
There is data available that show distances of police shooting based on their job description. Traffic cops have longer shot distances than detectives. The DC metro area has many close up and personal police shootings because the high number of plain clothes cops just going about their day and attacked by a crook who thinks their John Q citizen and an easy mark for a robbery.
The 3-yard rule as I know still applies to the average distance. But we are talking about defending from a surprise attack and drawing a handgun from a purse or under clothing. The suspect maybe arm's length away before your able to fire. My point is, there isn't going to be a crook that shouts from 25 yards away to hand over your wallet. Or shouts at you from 15 yards away, that he demands you out of your car to do a carjacking. Think close up and personal is likely the distance you will be defending yourself as a CCW holder.

Kmoore and Blume above make some very valid points. Three decades OTJ in a ghetto environment I know it's true. And that 333 rule , 3 yards, 3 shots, 3 seconds, is really more like 3 feet. Which is why handgun fit to your grip is more important than glow in the dark sights. The most you would ever need is a front blade/ center mass, pull the trigger.

In August I responded that my preferred carry is a DAO J frame. That's because it cannot hang up with clothing. It should always fire. Unless fully drawn and cleared from obstruction a autoloader may only work once.

Make sure your weapon is in alignment with your hand/ wrist/ arm when you draw. It should point like your index finger.
