Late 150 series Speed Six

I have a late in the 150 series Speed Six manufactured in 1974 that I am trying to find new grips for but am unsure what type I would need. Can anyone help by looking at this picture?

Welcome to the Forum.

Typically but not ALWAYS the 150-serial number Six Series have the "low back" grips frame. There are exceptions to that rule but pretty uncommon. Here's a picture of the "low back" grip frame:

Yours appears to be the later more common grip frame and there are a LOT of aftermarket grips available for that.
So, you're in luck cause grips for the low back frames are darn far and few between. Most people will advertise the grips your looking for as fitting the 151- and up serial number guns.

On another note, adding a Tyler T Grip (#8) will work on your gun too.

There are low back grip frame Security Sixes that have high back (151)-s/n's and high back grip frame Security Sixes with a low back (150-) s/n's. This happened during the transition from low backs to high backs. What you show is a high back grip frame so any grips that say for 151-and up s/n's will fit your revolver.

There is about a 30,000 ser. no. range of "slop over" during the change from low back to high back frame. This "slop over" occures over the ser. no. break at 151-.
In other words, from about 150-95xxx to about 151-25xxx.
Very confusing if your gun is within this "slop over" range.

I once owned a 4 inch Speed Six 150-99xxx with new high back grip frame.
