All,
I am new to the forum but was told by a lot of friends to come to this forum and post my issue. Be patient with me as I am very frustrated due to this situation.
The picture is below and excuse the lint on the revolver I had it in a pouch at the gun show today looking for grips.
I found a really nice pair of redhawk grips and they fit but my grip panel locater the little round black spindle in the grip handle was way to small. This is the new KRH44 4inch from ruger. I really like this weapon but hate the bantam grips, I have been looking for grips for over a year, now I have run into another hurdle and I am getting very frustrated. To the point I am seriously contemplating selling my first weapon in over 18 years of shooting. Even though I have very large hands Ruger really screwed up putting bantam grips on this thing they are just to fat IMHO. I thought it was something I could adjust to and can't.
These are the grips I found today at the show but the best thing of them all they were 49.99 brand new. I ended up not getting them in fear of not being able to use them.

So the question, for those that have changed out their grips have you also had to replace the grip locator with one that has a larger button on it and if so where did you get it (please place and part number) along with the the grips you matched it up with.
The guy swore his grips were for the redhawk and I believe him as he took a used 5.5inch older redhawk he had for sale and took the original factory grips off and put these on. On that older Redhawk the button in the center of the grip locator was much larger. The guy was unwilling to swap grip locators because he then would have been without grips.
I started to trade this 4 inch in on the 5.5inch he had, he would have done a straight up trade but it would have been a major lost for me even though the 5.5 was in great shape, that's how frustrated I am with this project. Something I feel should take maybe a day or two to find grips you like and that's it.
Guys&Gals please lend a helping hand to a frustrated fellow.
