Wondering if you guys have a suggested fix for the following;
I (stupidly) stripped the threads in the Grip Hole for the large head screw located at the bottom of the grip (KP89). Did this only on one side (I'm not that stupid). My temorary fix for now was to put on a Hogue Stretch rubber grip sleeve over the grip which now traps the screw. Any suggestions (other then sending back to Ruger) on how to repair the threads? If I Tap to a different size, then I need a corresponding Screw to match the head size in the stock screw (fit the grip). I was thinking about filling the hole with JB Weld followed by re-drill and tap (original size thread). Again, stupid mistake on my part, but I need to fix it. Thank you. ....... Merry Christmas ......... Rich G.

I'd go to a hardware store and see if you could get a larger threaded screw that still has the same size head. If you can, just drill and tap to that screw's specs, and you're done. Even if you have to go to a slightly larger head, you can always countersink your grips a little larger, or any subsequent grips that you put on, or you could sand the larger head a little smaller. No big deal really. You're not the first one to strip out a grip screw, and you most certainly won't be the last ! :D
