Kimber .17 M2 conversion kit

I think you know about as much as most of us. Low production,, discontinued, and scarce.

I probably shouldn't say anything, because I can't remember the exact forum/thread that I read this on, but here goes. I think that I read in a forum that Kimber discontinued the conversion unit in 17M2 partly due to problems with inconsistent chamber pressure between rounds, and I think that it stated that if they are sent in to Kimber for warranty repair, they will only replace it with a like unit in 22lr. I may be all wet in this, does anyone else remember reading something similar?
