In "conservative" eastern Washington, I have seen it several times in the last 20 years since we moved here!
A couple of years after we moved here, there was a drunken driver who had a string of hit-and-runs the day after Christmas. A half dozen cars. Citizens were chasing him and calling it in. The Dispatcher said "We know! That is Deputy ____" He ended up getting lost and cornered in the McDonald's Parking lot where he was chasing the people (now out of their cars) around like the Keystone Kops.. Eventually detained and released w/o his car keys. He pleaded "Nolo contendere" and resigned before sentencing. He was able to get a job in a neighboring county.

"The Wenatchee child abuse prosecutions in Wenatchee, Washington, US, of 1994 and 1995, were the last "large scale Multi-Victim / Multi-Offender case"[1] during the hysteria over child molestation in the 1980s and early 1990s.[2][3] Many poor and intellectually disabled suspects pled guilty, while those who hired private lawyers were acquitted.[4][5][6] Eventually all those accused in these cases were released,[7] and the authorities paid damages to some of those originally accused.[8][9]"

"Forty-three adults were arrested on 29,726 charges of child sex abuse, involving 60 children in 1995."

All in ONE year!!! 🤔 🤔

City's Insurance refused to pay because of Perez's malfeasance as investigating officer! Wenatchee is still paying off!! The episode was referred to in Stephen King's novel "Dreamcatcher". Perez is, I believe, still working in Washington with Child Services!

The above is well worth the read about small town justice!

Don't forget Stillwell, MO

People used to be proud of the right to vote in this country. Now the country is divided into two groups. If you vote Democrat, the Republicans hate you. If you vote Republican, the Democrats hate you. It's like one of our cherished rights has been turned into something dirty. And the way I see it, it is only going to get worse.

I'm glad I don't live in a city anymore.

Don't know why we got so divided... just about everyone I know here as well as out in the real world are good honest people and it has nothing to do with which side of the political fence they are on. I've got two married couples that I consider my best friends and would do anything in my power to help if they needed it and they are so politically opposite it is hard to explain. then again I have another couple who's religion does not allow them to vote.... Now that I think about it, this is one more wonderful interesting time I live in.

The division makes us bicker with each other. Instead of questioning why we never claimed responsibility for agent orange for our veterans. Why we have a for profit war machine that encourages international war. Massive amounts of homelessness and drugs (originally brought in by the Cia for private funding). Unaffordable housing and Healthcare(because of government policy). Private farmland being bought up by all of the billionaires. We squabble over dudes in women's sports and where the racist line lies. You don't deal with the mass corruption if you have a with them or against them mentality. The government is doing things in favor of corporations over people. We truly are no longer represented. Also..... all of the squabbling is over non-solvable issues.

People, mostly the left, are thinking with emotions and not facts. This allows .gov to grow problems and launder money in an "attempt to fix" them.

Your class warfare statement falls right into the socialist playbook.

CA spent 20 BILLION on homelessness but cannot account for how the money was spent.

Wars- right now on Biden. Billions spent but we dont know what the planned outcome is.

Drugs- Bidens open border

Homelessness- we no longer emphasize self-determination. We allow unskilled to cross our borders making everything worse while lining the pockets of the "charities.

Theres always a new .gov program to make every situation worse.

Yet all we hear is people asking for more .gov intervention.

So the LEO should just pick and choose the laws they enforce? If people just cooperate and do what they are asked things will go a lot smoother.
Well yeah. If the posted speed limit is 55 you SHOULD get a ticket AND insurance hike for going 60? Crossing the street whilst jaywalking?

To be fair, officer discretion involving enforcing some laws is a fact of life and you really can't have one foot in the water and the other on dry land regarding the issue.

Yes, I'm sure they do.... but look at the job... I can't imagine the strain and stress especially these days with everyone out to get something for as little work, or even no work. I was in an FBI seminar a few years ago and the agent said all LEO's carry personal insurance because if they shoot someone they will be sued. Even if it absolutely justified the family will sue hoping for a settlement. Keep in mind most law suits never go to court ... two lawyers one representing the insurance company usually settle it out of court because it is cheaper than going to court even if the insurance company has a sure win.

Oh, you mean like the Stormy Daniels law suit? Nothing legally wrong with a pay off settlement.
