Hey all, I just got a 1970 44 Carbine. I am interested in putting some glass on top of it, but not sure what all is compatible, or the best way to mount. Anyone have any recommendations on setups? Please show me your setups and if you can, could you include a little gun porn so I can get some ideas?

I have a 67 model I bought before going in the service. It has the receiver "peep"
sight on it. I've never scoped it as it's a woods gun but I do have a Bushnell TR25
Red Dot sight that works great. I've killed several deer, a couple hogs and even
a couple coyotes. I use Hornady 240 gr FTX ammo.

I used weaver bases and steel rings. I put an older Tasco world class plus 4x44 on mine. That's the biggest objective I could find on a straight 4x scope back almost 20 years ago. I will try to get a picture later.

Congrats OP, I recently acquired a ’66 one and mounted a Burris Fastfire 3 sight on mine. I feel that the compact pistol round carbine will be used for hunting, target shots within 50- 100y so a red dot much more compact and I like better for quick shots at shorter distances. got the site and rail from midway and mounted up easily removing the two rearward screws on receiver.
Dano has the lower( better) rail but I asked him but he doesn’t remember where or which one it is and I couldn’t find one that low. I just did mine about 2 mounts ago and I forgot which mount I got!
enjoy you 44. You’ll love it.
