I've been looking at these for a while on Gunbroker and have really like .44 Special guns for a long time. But actually BUYING one is All. Your. Fault. Ruger Forum, you are to blame. I found this forum when seeking some info regarding a possible problem with my OM .357 (which was returned to me by a prospective buyer). But then you started feeding my desire. And showed me the Bisley-gripped Lipsey guns. And showed me where to find one for a reasonable price. I hate you all. : )

I currently have 4 Ruger single-actions, though I've owned a couple of others.

--Old Model .357 w/ 5 1/2" barrel
--Old Model .41 Mag w/ 4 5/8" barrel
--Old Model .44 Mag SBH w/ 7 1/2" barrel
--New Model .22 Single Six. Has "cancer" and a non-matched .22 WMR cylinder. I bought this really cheap when working at a gunshop because the right side and most of the cylinder are heavily pitted from bad storage. I buffed off the rest of the bluing on the cylinder to make a sort-of "Pinto".

I'm known as an enabler,,, just ask my most recent victim,, Kevin.
We call the disease "Rugeritis".
I have it bad & do NOT want a cure.
PS; The only way to get any comfort is to buy more Rugers.

I just picked up mine last week. I have got to say the quality of fit and finish on mine is just outstanding. The only thing I found was that although the grips fit very well on the front and back of the backstrap they are about 1/16" short and the bottom of the grip frame stands proud. That said, I am making a set of grips for it anyway. I had them roughed out two weeks ago.
A .430 (measured exactly) cast bullet just slips into the throats with light thumb pressure and the bore is as slick as glass. It should be a great little shooter.
Enjoy yours!

Yep, you'll like it. I shoot my plow handle .44Spec more than the Bisley... But I like them both. Enjoy!

Here is a family portrait of my .44Specs .... More enabling ....

Hmm. Nice! But I think the little fella is loaded.

I've had more .44 Specials in the past, but right now it'll just be the BH and a S&W Triple Lock.

Greatest collection of ENABLERS ON EARTH.....
here's proof, only owned one when I joined up.....................

480 SRH Alaskan on order and already paid for thru LGS, just waiting for one to show up.

Here's hoping you'll find a steel wheel discarded on the other side of the canyon - like we did one fine morning. My son and i have spent hundreds of 200grainers ringing that wheel from a good 75-100 yards with my lone 4 5/8" 44SPL FT. It is a staple of any hike in that draw.

Consider your purchase as a "first", never an "only". ;)

You will be wanting others for sure. Like maybe the S&W 24-3 4" which is also known as a 1950 Target in 44 special. That and my Ruger are my two favorite shooters in my large arsenal. Pure Sweetness! Enjoy your new baby.

Everyone hates each other so much on this forum, that we all encourage each other to do the same as you! :!:
