Ok, this is being offered to me from the same estate sale. Ruger Single Six in 22lr, made in 1972. Used, in good condition. I *may* be able to get it for $300. I don't know if that would be a good price. I am new to the world of Rugers but I am learning fast. The early guns didn't come with the extra 22 Magnum cylinder correct?

Ok, that .22 most likely shipped with a spare .22 mag cylinder, assuming it has the .22 LR cylinder in it. It's wearing an aftermarket stick on vent rib, that could easily be removed. It's an OM, 3-screw,, made prior to the NM's that were introduced in 1973. So it's a late production OM.
$300 is a very fair price,, as it's easily worth $400 or so.

I'm going to take a look at it today. I imagine if the spare cylinder is missing that would devalue it quite a bit.

Nice looking gun and just may have been a convertible, as noted above gotta actually see just what cylinder is in the gun now, the early magnums looked the same from the outside, and your serial number for the SC is later, soooooooo it's still a good price spare cylinder or not.............(y)
adjustable rear sight makes it an 'SC" Super Single Six and whatever the barrel length is...yes that rib is very easy to remove, neatness counts........;)

I'm not much of a single action guy BUT ….. to me ANY Old Model Single Six that's good mechanically and in good to very good condition cosmetically is a NO BRAINER at $300.00.

$300 dont get a fella much these days unless you want a polymer 9mm semi auto ….. just sayin'.

This Ruger Super Blackhawk I bought in 1989 for around $150. This was my second Ruger that I had ever purchased, the other being a used MkII target bull barrel that I no longer own

Serial places it to 1960. Sadly I do not have the original boxes or documents for any of these.
