Just Bought Ruger KNR4 Stainless 22 Convertiable 4 5/8

I have a couple of questions for you guys. I just purchased this pistol today at the Knoxville, Tn gun show. It has the warning under the barrel, the Ruger logo stamped into the top of the rear site, and the grips are bevelled out at the top on the inside with XR bevelled out on the inside of each panel along with a date stamped with black ink on each panal, JUN 12 2008. It came in a Dark Green Plastic Box. The serial # is 265-119xx. It does not have the safety lock inside the grip-frame either. So can any of you guys tell me a little about this? I've never seen one. It was brand new from a dealer selling it there. He said he had only gotten this one in and that was it. Just wondering about it. I really love this little guy!

Distributors will contract a manufacturer to produce non-cataloged variations. Sounds like one of the current Lipsey's special run models. The grip panels are inletted on the back for the internal locking device which is used on all the current blued models.

Yup, sounds like a Lipsey's repop. Some of the earlier Lipsey KNR4's came in gray cases, and had the warning on the side (as did the earlier green cased guns).

Now you need a no-warning original
