Bike looks like maybe a Honda SL 350 but it's got a few mods. Looking at the mounts on the rear
and the front downtube, also at the triple clamps I wonder if it was also some kind of camera platform.
not camera mounts all the did was remove the headlight. That bike was originally built to be street bike.

So what is the horizontal tube bolted across the engine downtube and the tube mounted across the rear fender for?
Extension behind the seat looks a bit "boxy" compared to my memory of stock rear fenders?

Wayne was 1.93m.
This thread is further proof that absolutely nothing on Gods green earth is too petty to argue about.

I loved the old Hondas around 1970 they had the CB-street Cl- Street/Dirt SL-Dirt, I think that is right!

I've seen a photo of John Wayne on his personal horse.
The guy who pointed it out to me asked me if I saw anything unusual about it and after due studying I said no.
In the photo he is on a paint, where in the movies he only rides solid colors, according to the gentleman.
Since then, I have not reviewed my collection of Mr. Waynes movies to confirm that, but my recollections say it's probably true.

From what I heard , and we know what that's worth... Wayne always requested a smaller horse for his movies so that he would look bigger.... but who knows, according to some on this thread they must have been ponies.... which reminds me of a scene in one of his very early movies where he shouted:

"Shoot Low Boys, They're riding Shetland ponies!"

Wayne rode an Appaloosa in El Dorado.
