The FedEx guy just dropped of my new Galco King Tuk for my SR1911 Commander. I've been carrying the Glock 26 Gen 4 for a while, however, the 1911 feel more comfortable to carry. I'm sure it will get better as I break in the new holster.

My only thought on the SR1911 CMD for CC is the weight...it's heavy! I really like mine, like the .45 for serious social engagements, but wish that Ruger would put their acknowledged expertise in cast aluminum frames to work and come up with a light wt. version, ala Colt's originally Commander. I've no experience with the Galco KT holster, but my neighbor, an LEO with over 30 yrs of experience carried a steel framed Commander for years before going to something lighter for off duty use. Good luck with yours, Rod

Oh, I dunno...me personally, I like some weight in my carry gun.
Actually, I find it rather comforting.

I'm carrying my SR1911 Commander IWB in a Sticky Holster. It is quite comfortable for me. Yes, it is heavier than polymer guns but that's fine with me. A lot of the time I carry the SR1911 on my right side, the XDs45 on my left and my LCP in my back pocket. Then I can get to anything I need from almost any position or situation. And it isn't as bad as it might sound (LOL). I also have pepper spray and some knives. It sounds crazy when I type this, but it all seems so natural now, I just don't really think about it and just do it.

I respect the freedom of choice. As for myself, I don't care to have to tote around a heavy piece, hour after hour, day after day. Now, if that were my only option, then I'd leave the house with a twelve guage pump shotgun.
