I have an older all weather that wears a true stainless steel 4x weaver scope. They were made for each other. It is definately one of my favorite rifles.
A couple of questions Mr. Quinn. I had assumed the new production rifles were going to be in a matte stainless. Your test rifle appears to be the satin finish. Is this the case or is my monitor playing with my eyes? I prefer the satin finishes and may just buy another if they are satin. Also , is the trigger group identical to the early rifles except in stainless? It always bothered me to have an all-weather gun and a blued trigger assembly. Ruger was just to cheap/lazy to do it right with the early 77/44's. I will be replacing mine if and when the part becomes available and "fix" it the way it should be.
Jeff.
