Years ago we took in a young female friend of my sons. She was from a background of abuse and neglect through multiple step fathers and family. We raised her as our own in a safe loving environment. When she was working and stable she left.
A couple of years passed and she showed up with a little girl and pregnant. Her husband had beat her up pretty good. We took her and the girl in. She had the boy child and we raised them, again as our own. When the boy was 2 she left and went back to the Dushe bag that beat her when she was pregnant. (for shared custody) We paid all the lawyer fees but courts said she moved to far away and forced her to return to county her husband lived.

Here is the sad part. Those children, and their mom, are our family. Tonight, I'm wrapping their presents, hoping they show.
This will make 4 years of Christmas presents that may go unclaimed. WE have no grandchildren by blood but they are by any definition our grandchildren.
We gave ger a home (more than once), helped her to get a good job, took loving care of those beautiful children in a very safe environment and showed them love like their mom never had.

It breaks our hearts that she has not kept in touch. She changed
phone numbers She came from super trash, we showed her a better life.
No good deed goes unpunished????
Those children and our adopted daughter mean so much to us. They apparently will be missed another Christmas.

Sorry for your loss.

That's a rough one to hear. We took in a Cousin of mine 40 years ago and it's gone the other way. He calls me almost every day and treats me as a Father figure.
I most certainly hope your situation turns around and your efforts are appreciated. Some folks are just destined to repeat failure after failure.

You did a very honorable thing in saving the girl and kids., you and your wife are to be commended. Maybe she’s now forced by dickhead to not make contact with you but whatever the case maybe I hope she comes around to call you before too long. A tough situation and I’ve been going through something similar so I understand the pain involved.
