I suppose some folks have better luck than others. One advantage I have is not having to winterize and store the Airstream for months on end. The worst thing for RV’s is letting them sit. But the same can be said for any dwelling.
Like any vehicle do the maintenance, keep it clean and fix stuff when it’s little and they will last many years. But what do I know. Oh wait, I do have a forty year old Jeep in the driveway. Bought it new and the kids can have it when I’m gone.
