I just noticed something strange on Ruger SRH Alaskan website http://www.ruger.com/products/superRedhawkAlaskan/models.html . See small tabulation top left:

All Models:
Capacity: 6.

And if you go to models, 44 and 454 look like 6 shot.

KSRH-2454, 454 Casull

KSRH-2480, 480 Ruger

Take a look, 480 looks to me as a 5-shot. Am I missing something?

Five shot Sir ;)

Something must be wrong; either tabulation, or picture! Anybody handled latest 480 SRH model to clarify what's correct?

All models are 6 shot. They used the last picture they had of an Alaskan 480 for the website when production was started again. Unfortunately, it was of the 5-shot. I'm sure it will be fixed soon.

Anyone now if any version of the 480 alaskan is actually making it out of the factory. If so where can I get one. Been hunting long and hard for one.

You can simply order one via the Gun Genie on the Davidson's website. May be allocated, so place an order and wait for the next run... MSRP shows $1079, YMMV.

I'm standing in line for one also. On order thru my local store, they have requests in at all their distributors, guess we just have to be patient.

Ruger,,,, 5 shot,,,,,, not likely, I have had more conversations and emails with them over the Blackhawk in a 5 shot 480 in the past 5 years and have all but been guaranteed, Ruger will not entertain any ideas of a five shot cylinder, no way no how. JWIBT numerous times. :(

They will not let you order an allocated item. They tell you to contact your dealer. I have every dealer within a days drive of me trying to find me one.

You have to sneak up on them real slow. Might check some out of the way gun shops.

Well.....they made at least 23 of them in the Alaskan SRH.

That's the point of the thread - asking if they are making them again. They most probably won't due to engineering & manufacturing problems.
The five-shot guns are obviously very scarce as they never really made it into production rates. Pricey even if fired, if found for sale.
Then again, Magnum Research has no trouble building a 5-shot cylinder for the BFR SA.

Big difference between black hawk and red hawk, strength wise.
