This was a no-fluff presentation, and I appreciated it.

This reinforces what many boys learned decades ago. Even a .22 Short can be devastating.

This presentation also shows, there are few absolutes in the field of ballistics. Some cartridge combinations exceed the advertised numbers, some fall short. In another gun, the numbers could be opposite.

Thanks for posting this. :)

After watching that video I may switch to this for my conceal carry.

The standard NAA Mini comes in 3 frame sizes. Short, LR, and Magnum. If you have large hands the short and LR may not work for you. The issue is not the gun but hand fit. I had the LR frame. When I would grab it fast the trigger would fall in the knuckle of my finger and I could not pull it. This means I could not trust it for carry. If you have smaller hands they work fine. The guns are good. I have moved up to the Magnum frame with the conversion cylinder. She fits perfect. She will fire short, LR, and Win mag. At the range every one laughs at her. When they shoot her they stop laughing. For you black powder guys the LR and Mag come in a cap&ball version :D! I have one. https://northamericanarms.com/firearms/ --- One like mine.

Here is all 3 sizes. The long rifle and short have the same grips. But north american arms sells this oversize slip on grip that fits either one. To me, it made all the difference and makes it very shootable.

You are right. But now I have a magnum. Still slips in a pocket with no bulge. I just never liked the look of most of the non NAA over size grips. That's just me.

Thanks for the video. I had wondered about the cold affecting the ballistics gel. But the guy said he let it get up to room temp first.

Question: why did some of the rounds end up base first. Backwards I guess. Do they flip immediately when hitting the gel? Or does it happen inside the gel halfway through their 7 inch path?

I would like to see a slow motion video of that, I'll have to look one up. The slo-mo guys might have one.

Another question:
Why buy a dedicated 22 short NAA revolver when you could buy the long rifle and have both options?

Great video though, thanks for posting.

The Short is just because you can. That's all. In the 1 1/8" barrel key holing is a problem. They flip. Also they can be picky about ammo. They are a belly gun at best. For LR and Mag there is short barrel ammo made. That helps. For those who collect NAA the Short is sort of a must have. The short and LR are the most often smuggled in to prison .Don't ask. ER had a episode about removing a loaded one.o_O

North American Arms still makes a belt buckle for their 1 1/8" LR.

I believe Freedom Arms also had a belt buckle for their mini's.

That was one of the better vidoe's I have seen done. I would not have guessed at that penetration. But also remember those still lack a lot of energy vs the 9mms/40s and 45s when fired from a handgun.

Because the 22 Short version is even smaller than the LR version.

I knew 2 people who had the short version. One was a friend's wife, and the other was a guy I worked with who took one into Canada hidden inside his motorcycle's hand grips. I wouldn't have chanced it.

My short barreled 22 mag. would keyhole at 25 yds. It was murder on field mice at 10' or so with CCI rat shot.

I've had the unfortunate experience of having to use the NAA mini 22 short. I used to carry it as a deep cover gun.

A guy high on meth attacked me and my partner with a ball bat. I put four rounds of hi speed hp in the center of his chest from five feet away as he was beating my downed partner.

He backed up and charged. As he was hitting me with the bat, my partner shot him in the ass with a 380. That took the fight out of him.

Later the ER surgeon told me that the bullets had fractured the guys sternum but had all stopped on it. My partner and I both promptly bought Detonic 45's as did most of the rest of the narcotics division.
