I've had several GP100's and I've been happy with all of them. Only gripe I have with the standard GP100 is the "Read instruction manual" printed on the side of the barrel. My new Match Champion has it on the bottom where I think it belongs.

The six series are a little more compact but I prefer the GP overall, especially the 7-shot. Six series parts/repair are more of an issue as well.

I agree, now is the time to look for the Security Six, or Speed Six as they are becoming scarcer. GP's will be around for a long time.
I have the stainless Security Six 4" that I carried for about 6 years. Shot quals with it and it was my camp and trail gun too. Never had a problem, and it's one I will never sell.
But I also have GP100's in blue and stainless. And the 5 shot 44spl is my favorite out of them. I've nothing bad to say about either one of them.

I found this comment amusing. I've never heard of a huge demand for parts or the need for service. Very few issues with them.
