Does anyone have additional information on this 10/22? I bought it more than 10 years ago and at the time I was told it was a limited edition. It has what appears to be a Fajen legacy stock but is branded Ruger. I have not ever been able to find another one.

Thanks
Chip

Yes I found that earlier. I was thinking of a letter of Authenticity from Ruger but i was reading that they are pretty general. Its inexpensive enough I will likely do it anyway and see if I get any additional info.

Thanks

That's not a model number its a serial. I will get a letter but I am finding in forums that Ruger's letters give basically the info above and maybe ship date if they have it. Just from what I have read its not like Colt as an example. These days $10 doesn't by you much but I will send for it.

The $10 letter will give you the month & year of mfg & shipping. It'll also give you the actual model nomenclature. And where it was shipped to initially.
With the model info,, you can determine if it was possibly a special edition of some variation. Once you get that,, we can help a bit more.

unless there is some sort of Ruger logo on that stock, it looks to me, all too much like some "tacticool" aftermarket, add-on............:cool:

and without the box or sales receipt?? ( i doubt would have any particulars) you'd need th e letter as to just what that gun when shipped, was cataloged as......;)

I seem to remember a distributor exclusive 10/22 that came with a Ruger-branded Fajen Legacy stock.

Don't have any info on model number, but my old-guy memory keeps telling me that's what it is...

We recently went through a similar discussion with a revolver. Think it turned out all 100 or 200 of the guns left the factory as basic production guns and went to a company to add embellishments of some sort.

I'd guess that's likely the case here.

The stock is labeled Ruger. It appears to be a Fajen Legacy stock branded for Ruger.

Take a closer look at the butt end, under the adjuster...
🤷

Those are damn rare!!! Yes, that gun left the factory exactly as it looks as a TALO distributor special (catalog number 10/22-TS). The model 1174 is the stainless counterpart. I've never heard how many of each were produced, but as mentioned... damn rare!! I've never seen one besides an auction that had two of them not long ago, none laying on gun show tables and never heard of anybody getting them either at the time they were made.

thank you Chad, my "go to" 10/22 guys are either gone ,like Bill W., and hardly ever get to see Charlie 10/22 (been years) and the friend of Terry W. here in OHio who comes to the local shows, few and far between, and he's been selling off many of his 10/22s, so gotta leave it up to you to pitch in, comment....( No pictures in RENE, so need to have "numbers") ;)

......and yes it still is "tacticool"(y)

I did reach out to Talo asking for any additional info while waiting on the LOA. They did confirm through records it was a distributor item and have added the stainless and Blued versions to their webpage.

It shows models and production counts.
Wow! I'm surprised there were that many of each. Those who bought them must have held tightly onto them.
