I just saw your question.
They do plan on repairing the roads & bridges. Gotta keep the tourists coming. The biggest obstacle will be I-40 from Tenn to Asheville. It too took a bad hit.
But if you were to head this direction, I-20 to Atlanta,, to I-85, to SC hwy 11 (at the Ga/SC state line,) and take SC 11 towards Landrum SC. Landrum is only about 30-35 minutes away from me. I'll keep you posted as time goes on.
