For our Senior Saints lunch next month (February) we were asked, those who want to, to write a poem. Now I've never done that before, poetry not being my long suite. But, well, I thought I'd give it a try. So, here goes, and remember its my very first effort:

A Poem to my wife

We've lived together many years -
-as husband and wife.

'Tis the season for romance,
So I've heard tell.
And, as to my wife,
She's a mighty fine Southern Belle.

She's stuck by me through
thick and thin.
'Tho at times I thought
we'd never win.

But when trouble was on the prod,
We clung to each other,
And trusted in God.

I wish I could write a poem like yours. I always get stuck after 'Roses are red', and its a blank mind. It is a very sincere and heart felt poem. You dun gud.

Thanks

Mike

Nope, that's a poem.. And a darn nice one at that..

A limerick sounds like this..

"There once was a woman from Venus, who's body was shaped like a ............"

The Bible tells us that a man who finds a good wife should thank God for His blessing.

Amen! My friend.

Your poem is a beauty. Share it and start working on the next. The world needs poets.
