It's not the heat it's the humidity. I was in Vegas for a week and the air was painful to breathe.
Vegas was humid?

We really like Southern Texas, the people seem very nice here.

But after living in New Jersey for just 2 years, it still throws me off when strangers start talking to me in the grocery store. Which tends to happen a lot here in Galveston and Lake Jackson. Both nice places.

Its not just the humidity itself. Humid areas have lots of mold and mildew spores floating around. Not good for breathing. I agree too dry is hard on your lungs and nasal passages too.

He was agreeing with me concerning the MD humidity. He said the Vegas air was 'painful' to breathe. Tucson is hot but not like Phoenix.

The greatest thing about New Jersey is the air; you can tell where your at by the smell. :)

Bob W my condolences.. For me, I hope its me that goes first, and fast so my wife won't be burdened with a sick old man. Been over forty years since moving to the mainland from Hawaii. I go back often, last time was this past October. Realized I couldn't live there anymore full time. To congested(Honolulu) and small. I've been told by several of my wife's relatives who have gone thru this recently is to take your time with this decision. And if you end up not liking your choice you are free to try again! Pack lightly and put stuff you're not sure of in storage.
