Thanks you guys, especially all you old timers. Often you don't get the respect you deserve. Many don't understand that wisdom comes with time, there's no getting around that. I've been smith'n on 1911's and AR's since the 80's. A while back I handled a NM blackhawk at my local pawn shop, and fell in love.
Now that I'm older, it is no longer about dumping a 30 round mag into a 100 yd. small bore target as fast as I can. It's no longer about trying to put 8 rounds out of a 1911 into a silhoutte target at 21 ft. or trying to blast some tannerite with an AK.
I've realized that reloading your own ammo can be a relaxing activity, the wife knows where I am, rock and roll has been replaced by classical music, and shiny brass fresh out of the tumbler has replaced my need for fast cars and motorcycles. And my German Shepherd lies at my side ever so happy.
I read about Grip Frames, and the interchangeable parts that Mr. Ruger had engineered. I was intrigued. I studied, searched, and asked questions...and I got answers! Everyone has been polite, honest, and spot on. Now at the range, I'm not in a hurry like I used to be. Shooting a single-action revolver, that you modified yourself, with ammo that you loaded yourself, is bliss. Awesome information you all have provided.
I installed a hunter grip frame, a SBH hammer, and some walnut grips. I learned that William Rugers design is as genius as Samuel Colt, John Moses Browning, and Eugene Stoner's Firearms. My "NEW" NM blackhawk fits my hand perfectly, shoots sweet, and has taught me a new discipline. I've realized it's not how many rounds you put down range, but how often you get down-range.
Thanks again Gentlemen. A couple of pics if they load.
