I just purchased a used new model stainless single seven, model number 8161, no box. Lipsey's special.

Did Ruger make a version of this model that polished, high gloss the stainless finish?

Not that I am aware of. Perhaps someone polished one? Is yours polished? If so I would like to see pictures.

They did a moderate high polish on the rare birdshead grip model. Not quite to the Vaquero mirror finish though.

I thought there would be a letter "G" for 'gloss' in the model data /catalog number. on the box label...:cool:
its a bit harder once separated from the original box, beside all the ones over the years we either "satin" them down, or "glossed" them up for the customer.....(y)

Now that I've had the chance to look it over good on my bench, I see the polishing is not even and all the gripframe screws are blued not SS so this is not factory done. Darn though as It looks pretty nice brightly polished.

I really wanted the birds head version but all of these single sevens are getting harder to find and the prices are going through the roof.

45/45acp flattop Birdshead custom.
45/45acp Vaquero Birdshead
327M Birdshead
22/22M Birdshead

The 2 on the left are Ruger High Polish with exception of the Cylinder in the first gun, a 45ACP CYLINDER added to a 45 Colt Vaquero.
