My pistol is just like the one Geezer posted
I gave $250 for it
If an extended mag release for a MkII will work in it and the dealer wont take it back
I might be stuck with it
So I will just have deal with it

Hank,
If things don't work out for you with the pistol or dealer, try the classifieds here or at rimfirecentral.com; you might find someone willing to swap lowers with you. No FFL is required to ship these parts.

Just to try and help you, posting a comment/question like this that is related to another post without explaining the real problem, leaves a lot of us hanging that have not read or don't recall the other post......

what is the problem with the pistol?

As stated above, a complete statement of your problem would help. Second to that is a link.

As stated early in the linked thread, a 22/45 does not have a steel lower, they are plastic. Mk-II uses the mag release at the bottom of the grip, not like a 1911.

How about some pictures to help us understand what you do have? :)

Again ....sorry for all my mistakes .....
It is a MkI lower with a 22/45 top end 4 1/2 inch
Someone did a nice job on it
had some early problems with stove pipeing
All is good now
Tweeked my mags this morning
Alittle grinding... alittle burnishing
200 rounds NO PROBLEMS
I think I will keep this pistol

I had a short barreled Standard and I picked up a MK III 22/45 upper and I put it on my Standard. You might want to give yours a chance, mine is a good shooter and a lot of fun. I am not much of a fan of the 22/45 so I prefer the Standard lower.

Well..I just got back from the range
This pistol shoots great
And I had no jams at all in the last 300 rounds
All my mags have been tweeked
I think that solved my stove pipe problem
