Well, when you look at the map of the projected path, you'll find that I'm just about in the middle only about 150 miles from the coast so it shouldn't be too bad here. Grandson in law is in the National Guard and the've already put him on standby.

I'm right there in Louisiana where you see the word Alexandria

The National Guard is often made light of as "Weekend Warriors." But the NG units around my area have been deployed to hot spots when the US Army needed them, and in storm or flood damaged areas when private citizens needed help. My hat is off to all who serve in the guard.

SALUTE!

So far south Florida has been blessed with a relatively quiet summer, fingers crossed it stays that way for the whole southeast.

I last one that hit Houston area was Beryl on 7-8-24. The eye which was West of Houston went right over us. 90MPH winds and 10-12" of rain is not fun. Luckily our power was only off for around 18 hours. I cranked up the generator so not a problem. Some people didn't have electricity for 7-15 days. Not good.
We did not have any damage.
It looks like this one is going into the area I spent a lot of time working in. Morgan City/Homa.
Stay Safe.
