Well there's always tomorrow...I hope!

Working on a trade for a Uberti High Wall Carbine .45-70

Compare this to Amazon. You go on line, indicate you want to return something you ordered, and instantly you have the label to be printed out. The technology is not complicated and any online vendor could offer this instant service. With Amazon, if the item ordered was for a "Prime" account and covered by that program, the return label is at no cost to the customer. If not a "Prime" then they deduct the cost of shipping from your refund.

Ruger sends them out fairly quick also.
Maybe today will be my lucky day!

Mom and Pop local shops don't need no stinking shipping labels.
Do business local, keep your local gun stores open! Give THEM YOUR BUSINESS.
After all it is good for you good for the shop and good for the community.
They pay taxes, they are their is a problem arises, and best thing they'll remember you.
Buy Local your money stays LOCAL. ps

HA!
'Mom and Pop' local gun stores tell you to pound sand and contact the manufacturer, every time. Once they've got your money, they're done with you.

A good Mom and Pop LGS will take good care of you. They want your return business and you being able to say good things about them to others. My LGS takes real good care of me. YMMV

Have a small local clothing store that I use. Since I happen to have a waist, a 35 that is not what you find in most stores, they carry name brands in 'odd' sizes. All the little local grocery stores are long gone. Linda and I were speaking of that very thing just yesterday as we drove past where one used to be. It is a shame but big business has killed the 'little guy'.

Sorry to here that Doc! I never ever had an experience like that Never!
Business owner usually tries to build clientele that's they way to keep going.
Always had positive interactions with mom & pop shops. Sure might cost a few
extra bucks but you get to actually handle the product a picture does not trip
my trigger. Buy on line all you like I like Joe Blow down the road. No shipping either! ps

I would think that Bud's has enough returns that they would set up an
on line process, much like Amazon. With Amazon, you get your RMA
AND mailing label (that YOU print) in less than a minute.

Oh well. Good luck with it.
I'm waiting for a flashlight from China that they said would be twelve
to sixteen days. It's been twenty-three, so far.

Hi,

My experience with LGSes in my little part of the world is that for every good one, where the folks who own/run the place understand why they're there, we'll have a handful who think they're doing the public a great service by simply unlocking the doors once in a while.

For reasons beyond me, it seems too many gun shop personnel think it's their business to inform the public of their own personal feelings on anything from 2A issues to the LBGTQ types, despite the fact a whole lot of customers really don't give a rat's patootie about such stuff. They're there to buy a gun, some ammo, reloading supplies, accessories, all things they can get somewhere else without the pontification. Give 'em their stuff, take their money, thank them kindly, and get on with the day. Simple concept, no?

And it's everywhere in the country, best I can tell. Several years ago, I bought a CZ-75B pistol, and soon learned about their excellently reviewed .22 LR conversion kit, the Kadet kit which slips right on. I went on a quest to find one, learning instead CZ hadn't yet caught on to how big the market for such an item might be, so the supply was scarce, and pricey (it's still pricey, though less scarce.)

Anyway, I found a shop online, in GA, who said they had one. It's a "part" by law, so it can be shipped anywhere in the US without paperwork. I called and got a hold of Billy Bob Bubba his very own self. I knew the part could be shipped to CA, and told him what I wanted, where I wanted it sent, and asked how much over the $285 price tag he needed to ship it so we could get it on its way. Instead of answers I needed, I got 15 minutes of bull malarkey about how screwed up CA is. Finally I interrupted and asked how often he sold almost $300 worth of merchandise in 15 minutes. "Well, not very often, we're not that busy."

I then told him he'd just missed a beautiful chance to do so for the day. "I don't get it," he replied. All I said was "No, Sir, you sure don't" as I hung up. I only wish his type was a rarity. In my experience, it's not... and soon enough, another company had the kit without the crap. And they even got more of my money than I'd been prepared to offer BBB.

Despite this, there's still good in the world, too: a buddy lost the choke tube wrench for his Benelli shotgun in a move, and wanted a factory replacement for it (a bit nicer tool than most aftermarket versions plus it says "Benelli" on the handle, which is probably what he really wanted anyway.) He'd looked and looked, to no avail. With his birthday coming up, I figured I'd give it a try. I found what seemed to be the only one in the entire country, at a fairly large gun shop in PA. In less time than it took BBB to tell how screwed up CA is, I felt like family with the fellow on the phone. We even discussed some of the problems out here regarding guns to which he said, "We wish you guys luck out there, cuz we don't want to see the same things happen here," and judging by how quickly it arrived, I think he had the tool wrapped up and labeled while we talked. He got it! If only we could clone him and his shop!

Back to the OP, I've never dealt with Bud's, but a local pawn shop says Bud's is the best online company they deal with, so patience is probably a worth while practice, even if it's not a virtue!

I've bought guns thru Buds several times and it has been trouble free but this is the first time I'm using a trade in as part of the deal.
I'm just amazed it takes over 3 days almost, not including the weekend, to email out a FedEx shipping label. Cost for their shipping is 39.95 and when I stopped by the local FedEx depot it would be $ 100.00 bucks!!
I use Bud's when a particular gun is not available at local gun shops around or if their price is much cheaper.
So as of right now 5:18 PM EST....nothing yet!

Wish you good luck Mus! How much did you save I wonder, to include shipping, transfer fees and hassle? ps

Well it is more than just savings. They had a few of the Uberti 1885 High Wall .45-70 rifles in stock at a good price at the time we worked the deal out and they are giving a good amount on my trade so it's the convinence of the deal too.
I will contact them tomorrow and get the wheels turning!

Just chatted with their Service Rep on their site and he said he will send a message to the "Label Department" and it should be sent out tomorrow! What the heck...they actually have a corner in the room for sending out labels???? A customer service rep. should just be able to pull up my order number and type away a FedEx slip and click!!

I think they will take care of it quickly!
