Hot August Nights/Sparks-Reno

Just a few pics as early on in the festivities. It has been over a decade since I have seen a 1959 Chevy Impala and at first, I thought I saw one, but it turned out to be a 1959 El Camino. Swivel seats made it more interesting. Then there was this "ratrod" with the fiberglas body. The pics were taken at a local A&W in Sparks, where they have the best double cheeseburgers with mushrooms and onions in them. I am drooling just thinking of them right now. Then there are the root beer floats, but I digress. Enjoy the pics. I hope to post more later this week as the cars parade in downtown Sparks. Upper 90's in afternoons here, whew!

Love the Ford woody! Trying to figure out if it is a '49 or '50. The '49 had pull door handles and the 50 had push button. I can't see the handle well enough to tell which it is.
