Trivia Question. Who was one of the Greatest Horsemen of the Civil War?
Hint- He was the number one rider in Jumping class at West Point. Known for his love of Big Powerful Horses with a lot of spirit, that others had difficult handling. He rode a Big Black Horse. .

Ben Johnson: Team roping world champion. Two Rodeo Championships: Tie-down Roping and Team Roping both in 1953.
"Hoot" Gibson: 1912 All-Aroundl Pendleton World Champion Cowboy

While most people are more familiar with Academy winner Ben Johnson, Hoot Gibson was an earlier cowboy who was in silent movies and a romantic lead. I best know him as one who carried a six-gun in his boot, so when the bad guys got the drop on him and his buddies, he would turn the tables on them when he pulled out his gun.

Speaking of Randolph Scot, I remember this movie so well when I was a young kid. "Ride the High Country". Joel Mcrea was a Rancher in real life.
Also the young girls in this movie. Later as a man, I was at a bar and she was a few seats down. Looked beautiful

Ah yes, the lovely Mariette Hartley. Do take notice that she is/was one of the most noted anti-gun people around back in the. I don't know if she's still above ground or watch grass roots these days but I saw her in an interview on IIRC a Donahue show where she came out with a spiel on why guns should be outlawed. Her reasoning was because her dad used a gun to kill himself.
I will admit that she was a pretty good lookin' lady back then.

Oh, she is as phony as they come. Totally a FAKE person. When I saw her at the bar, a young guy abut 20 years younger was trying to pick her up. Lol, I believe he Scored a perfect Bulls Eye.

Hank Worden was a rodeo rider and became an actor that appeared in several John Wayne movies. Hank was educated as an Engineer at Stanford University and was an Army Aviation Cadet until he failed flight school. Quite an interesting history about him.
