Will these bullets expand at all at 900-1000 FPS when loaded for .45 Colt? I have since found out these were designed for the S&W 460.
I received them as a Christmas gift. Now the info on box states recommended velocity at 800 to 2100 FPS.

Also found info that these bullets use a thicker copper jacket to handle higher pressures in .460 loads so will the thicker jacket cause more bore friction and result in higher load pressures?

Paper weight or usable in .45 Colt loads up to 20,000 psi ?

Have you checked out the various reloading manuals plus Hodgdon Reloading online regarding this specific bullet? I suspect you'll find some interesting information out there.

Well I checked with Hornady and they said they never worked up a load for them in .45 Colt using their shorter brass.
I trimmed the flex tip back to be flush and should be able to have a 1.610 COL to work in most .45 Colt cylinders and will load using data for other JHP
loads at 200 gr. Looks like 9.4 Unique will be a good load to try for a bullet speed around 900-950 FPS.

I also have a 6x6x16 inch block of Clear Ballistic 10% coming in this week that I got on a sale they have going to do some test with.

I have used these FTX's in .429" and .452" in my 77/50's. I'm thinking 1700-2000 fps with 100 grs Pyrodex. Works great on deer. I have found perfect expansion when skinning and cutting meat.

I think your on the right track.
I have loaded this bullet with 10.0 gr. of Unique at just over 1000 ft./sec. In my Ruger 7 1/2" Blackhawk. Also have used 17.5 gr. of 2400 for around 1075 ft./sec. in the same gun. Both gave decent expansion at pistol ranges. Happy hunting.
