This. Or at least all your defensive handguns should have the same operational characteristics. When the SHTF the last thing you want is to grab your 1911 thinking you've grabbed your Glock. Every second counts. I made a conscious switch to HK's for my defensive handguns. They may have a bit different grip, but all the mag releases, triggers, and safety levers work the same. All the same DA/SA trigger pull. Consistency matters especially under stress.

I realized recently that I need a maintenance log for these pistols I have 'hidden' around the house... and I need to have a system to rotate them in proving that they function properly.

Yes, I think we all like to have our various guns of different styles and makes but as I've said... for the very unlikely event of really needing one I prefer to have the one I have trained with and shot hundreds if not thousands of times....
