I'm wondering what a good belt holster would be for a 7.5" Bisley Hunter (unscoped). All my other handguns have 4" or 5" barrels, and I use OWB pancake style, high ride holsters. However, with this long tube, I'll obviously need something different. I've heard the Bianchi Cyclone series is good, but they don't seem to have one for this length barrel. Use will be for woods carry. Thanks.

From time to time, I have carried a long barrel revolver in the field. My happiest combinations have been one of two different solutions. Cross draw works well and allows you to sit without revolver interference. It is VERY practical.

If you desire to scope your revolver, the Bianchi Hush System - across the chest style, works quite well in rough country and also works decently with a day pack. I have packed a Ruger Red Hawk, scoped 7½" .44 magnum and an S&W Model 29 8 3/8" revolver (one at a time  ) for days without effort or bother. I prefer the optional flap to protect the revolver in brush country and during bad weather.

How about the Galco Single Action Outdoorsman (S.A.O.)? It can be worn strongside or crossdraw. I have one for a 5.5 Blackhawk and it carries very well.

I have the same gun as you and have the Galco SAO mentioned above--also check out the Guides Choice system for it

I have a Galco SAO, too, and it's not terrible. If you can find one for under $60 you've got a winner. The Hunter holsters aren't too bad if you want something out of softer leather; The SAO is hard molded and pretty modern looking.

If you want to spend just a little more (~$70 range) it opens up a bunch of possibilities, like Threepersons style holsters from a number of sources.

I got a holster from simply rugged great holster, having him make up a belt and ammo pouch. He has a chest crossdraw nice set up. I'm looking at them to order as well. Just type in simply rugged, worth looking at.
