What holster options do I have for my 9.5" scoped SRH? I like the idea of carrying it across my chest (bandolier style), but I need some suggestions about who to go to for such an item.

I am presently having Shamrock Holsters build me one for a 7 1/2 inch rig but otherwise as you describe. It should be started this week. They can do 9 1/2 as each one is indeed custom made to your measurements.

They came recommended to me here and another place. I will have to wait to see and use it before I can endorse them (or not) but you can look and research them if you like in the mean time while you also entertain any other suggestions.

Shamrock Holsters must be a front for Pistol Packaging Inc as that pic looks a lot like this:

I have the Bandito Belt, with a few different holsters, and can vouch for it's versatility, comfort and quality.

They are certainly in cahoots. Not sure who is doing what or how there but through Shamrock you do talk to the builder. He and I have talked a few times over the phone. So it could be the other way around as there are lots of dead links on the Pistol Packaging inc site. I imagine they may be doing some stuff while another crafter doing others? He did tell me that the Shamrock site is being built and he was curious how I heard of his stuff... so I got the impression that Shamrock store site is fairly newish.

I bought my Bandito rig about 6 years ago, and it was Pistol Packaging. I talked to them directly as I needed a few alterations. I don't know, but it would appear that the leather crafters want to simply apply their craft and let others market. Either way, it is good stuff and I highly recommend.

I dunno the story there but it is obvious its the same stuff. Almost all the same fitment guides and all in both sites. I will ask him when I get the chance but I think your right in that someone or several are marketing for the actual builders.

Note the one site is one of those places you subscribe to and take out an online store www.stores.myregisteredsite.com this is the Pistol Packaging store. This is a domain owned by an internet service provider out of Atlanta that sells https stores services.

and then the Shamrock Holsters site is parked at its own domain, www.shamrockholsters.com which seems to have been bought by a Bryan Christensen (who is the listed web master not the actual leather crafter)

There could even be more stores selling this wares elsewhere. I have seen this before. Interesting though isn't it? I will ask him what the deal is here as I am expecting to talk to him again in the next week or so. I do believe they are both legit and same product though.

I have to call about another holster for my B-Belt so I will try the original and see. I am sure Shamrock is just marketing the original.

Let us know what you find out.

The guy (his name escapes me at the moment) I spoke with uses that cell phone number listed on the site. Its what he called me on and what I returned his call on. He is knowledgable about the process as the questions he asked about my measurements demonstrated so. However I made an assumption he was a maker from this but he did use the reference to "We" when speaking about the build time. Its been near a month since I spoke with him and he was calling from a Gun Show IIRC at that point. And it was going to be the first of Feb before they started on mine. And note that the Shamrock store uses a Pay Pal store check out.

Got a reply to the questions:

Pistol Packaging is the place that the holsters are made the lady is 65 years old, 5 years ago her husband passed away. I did shows for them and with them when he was alive, pistol packaging and I felt that it would be best for everyone if I used my own name for financial reasons.

I hope this clears it up
